Cut the fluff. Keep them watching.

High-end post-production that maximizes retention and drives action. Every cut is intentional. Every sound cue is placed. Every caption earns its screen time. We build the edit that performs — not just the one that looks good in a preview.

Why Editing Is the Difference

Great footage edited poorly is just content.

The edit is where video succeeds or fails. Viewer retention data from platforms like TikTok and Instagram is brutally clear: the first 2 seconds determine whether a viewer stays or scrolls. The pacing in seconds 3–7 determines whether they watch to the middle. The payoff in the final third determines whether they share, save, or buy.

Most agencies treat editing as the final step — something to get through after the creative work is done. At Inverno, post-production is creative work. We study the specific retention patterns for your platform and format, adapt pacing to trend data, and build edits that are engineered — not assembled.

The result is content that consistently outperforms the industry average on watch time, completion rate, and conversion — because the edit was designed with those metrics in mind before a single cut was made.

The Edit Process

Every frame is intentional.

01

Rough Cut

We assemble the footage according to the approved script or shot list, establish the structural arc, and identify the strongest performances and moments in the raw material.

02

Pacing & Sound

We refine every cut point for maximum retention — adding music, sound effects, and audio mix that keeps the energy of the piece moving at the pace the platform rewards.

03

Color, Captions & Delivery

Professional color grade, captioning for accessibility and engagement, motion graphics and text, and multi-format export. Delivered within 3–5 business days of approval.

Common Questions

Video editing FAQ.

Both. Our editing service can work with footage we shoot (as part of our Videography or On-Site Production services) or footage you provide. If you have existing raw footage — from a previous shoot, a client event, or phone video — we can take it through our full post-production process and deliver a polished final cut.
Standard turnaround is 3–5 business days from footage receipt to first cut delivery. Rush edits (48-hour turnaround) are available for time-sensitive campaigns. We build delivery timelines into every project so you're never scrambling to fill your content calendar.
We include two rounds of revisions on every edit. In our experience, 90% of projects are finalized within two rounds when the brief is clear before we start. We'll capture your feedback in a structured way that makes revisions efficient — not a back-and-forth of vague notes.
We deliver the final edit in all platform-specific aspect ratios you need — 9:16 for TikTok and Instagram Reels, 16:9 for YouTube, 1:1 and 4:5 for Instagram feed. All files are delivered as high-resolution MP4s, ready to upload without further compression.
Yes — trend adaptation is one of our most-requested editing services. We take existing footage and re-edit it using current trending formats, sounds, and pacing styles to give it a second life in the algorithm. Often our best-performing content for clients is a re-edit of something they had already written off.
The Editor's Role in Performance

Why editing is the difference between views and results.

Most people think of video editing as a cleanup task — cutting the boring parts and adding music. Editors who think this way produce content that looks fine and performs poorly. The editor is actually the last strategic decision-maker in the content pipeline, and the decisions made in post-production directly determine whether a viewer watches for three seconds or thirty.

The first three seconds of a video are the only three seconds that count until they're earned. The hook — the opening frame, the first line, the visual pattern interrupt — is the editor's responsibility. A piece of footage that would have been a 4-second scroll-past can become a 45-second watch time with a different opening cut. We've seen it in the data repeatedly: the same raw footage edited by two different editors produces dramatically different retention curves.

Pacing is the other variable most editors underestimate. Short-form content performs best when the pace matches the energy of the platform and the subject matter. A fitness brand needs a different rhythm than a luxury real estate agent. A restaurant reel at dinner service needs a different cadence than a professional services educator. We study the pacing patterns of the top-performing content in every category we work in and apply those patterns deliberately — not as a formula, but as a baseline to build from.

We also build content for the specific platform it's being delivered on. A TikTok edit and an Instagram Reel edit of the same footage should look different — because the viewer behavior is different, the caption relationship is different, and the content that performs on each platform has developed distinct visual conventions. Platform-native editing is a discipline, and it's one of the most overlooked competitive advantages in content production.
